It started with one daughter, one test, and a phone.
TextPrep began at the kitchen table. One of us was a high-schooler staring down the SAT; the other was a dad who'd read enough learning research to know that cramming the weekend before doesn't work, but a little practice every day does.
So we built something dead simple: one question a day, by text. No app to download, no login to forget, no dashboard to feel guilty about. Just a single question each morning, an honest explanation when you answer, and a streak worth keeping. It worked, well enough that we decided to open it up to every student, and every test.
Today TextPrep covers the SAT and PSAT, with the ACT, GRE, and more on the way. The idea hasn't changed: meet students where they already are (their text messages) and make consistent practice the path of least resistance.
A little every day
Spaced practice beats cramming. One question a day, spread across the weeks before your test.
Where students already are
No new app to install. It lives in the text thread they check a hundred times a day.
Honest about what works
We ground the product in real learning science, and we're upfront about what it can and can't promise.
